Be who you are
And say what you feel
Because those who mind
Don't matter
And those who matter
Don't mind

You Can Change The World

 Still That Girl
Dreams, they come
Plans, they change
Yea, we're gonna break
Yea, we're gonna break
Things we face make us who we are
Baby you're a star shining in the dark
Let's go back to the summer, summer when
We dreamed in love, let's go back again
Let's go back again
Yea, back again, my friend
To the summer when...
I'm holding a picture from seven years back
I smile at the memory, it's smiling right back at me, and I see
Brown hair and bright eyes, such a beautiful blue
A heart full of laughter with nothing to lose
That's how I remember you

You were young, you were free
And you dared to believe
You could be the girl
Who could change the world
Then your life took a turn
And you fell, and it hurt
But you're still that girl
And you're gonna change this world
Woh oh oh oh oh oh
You're still that girl
You're still that girl
Woh oh oh oh oh oh
You're still that girl
You're still that girl

Sometimes life don't go the way you planned
And we all have days when we just don't understand
Searching for meaning, it's not always easy
But your story's not over, it's still being told
Your sunrise is coming brighter than gold
Let's go back again
To the summer when

You were young, you were free
And you dared to believe
You could be the girl
Who could change the world
Then your life took a turn
And you fell, and it hurt
But you're still that girl
And you're gonna change this world
Woh oh oh oh oh oh
You're still that girl
You're still that girl
Woh oh oh oh oh oh
You're still that girl
You're still that girl

What if the picture is bigger than you see?
And God has you right where he wants you to be
Just listen to your heart
He's telling you with every beat
[x3:] You're still that girl

You were young you were free
And you dared to believe
You could be the girl
Who could change the world
Then your life took a turn
Don't you know?
Don't you see?
All you need is to believe
But you're still that girl
And you're gonna change this world
Woh oh oh oh oh oh
You're still that girl
You're still that girl
Woh oh oh oh oh oh
You're still that girl
You're still that girl

I see it in your eyes
I see it in your smile
You're still that girl
You're still that girl

I heard this song for the first time today. It is so cool! It can be so depressing when thoughts come into my mind,  and words from others that discourage what I believe is from God.  No, I have never heard and audible voice in my head. I believe God speaks in whispers to my heart,  like a still small voice. Oh may I hear Him and learn to listen to Him!

Awesomeness Quote

"Whoever looks with pity says, 'that's terrible,' and walks on, forgetting it all in that same instant. Whoever looks with compassion is never able to walk on, forget, or ignore. That person says, 'thats terrible. I cannot allow this to happen.' "

"It was compassion that moved Jesus to go to the dark, death-ridden tomb, calling out 'Lazarus!', transforming the cries of mourning and misery into tears of joy.
It was compassion that led Him to my tomb and yours, calling us by name. For 'God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions.' If we want to follow Jesus, we must look at the world with compassion."

-Matt Roper-

From the book, "Street Girls". A true life story of one man who God uses, and is using, saving girls from lifestyles of being used, and abused. Set in Brazil, it is a fantastic book to read to get a glimpse of how God may use YOU, if you are willing to be used.

Religion or Relationship? A Tale of Two Sisters  (Ruth 1:1-18)

We all know the tale of two sisters-in-law, Orpah and Ruth. For ten years these two women lived in the same family - under the same roof, ate the same food, laughed and talked together and even confided in one another.  One wasn’t loved more than the other one, instead, these sisters were treated equally. But while these two women may have seemed the same, we see the difference in their true character when tragedy strikes.  Consequently, Naomi makes an important decision to leave the place and head off to ancestral territory.  Let’s study the attitude of these two sisters:

  1. An attitude of delight instead of despondency:  Ruth delighted with Naomi, for even though the current situation appeared dark and gloomy, she had a far-sighted vision. Naomi’s persuasion for the young women to go back to her roots made no difference to Ruth.  She had a positive outlook and an unwavering attitude.
  2. An attitude of genuineness instead of deception:  While the tears of one were only skin-deep, the tears of the other came from the heart. This is the kind of test we’re often put through so that true commitment and faithfulness to the Lord emerges.
  3. An attitude of gratitude instead of forgetfulness: Ruth had tasted the Lord’s goodness for about 10 years and she felt that she just couldn’t just throw away God’s grace when tragedy struck.  As the psalmist says in Ps. 68:5&6 “ … He takes care of women whose husbands have died…God gives lonely people a family…”

In a nutshell, Ruth 1:14-17 is the refining fire that reveals each woman’s true devotion to her family and to God. What was the difference between these two sisters – Orpah and Ruth?   One was willing to leave when given the chance, while the other was ready to stay until death. It’s this commitment that defines the difference between religion and relationship.

I leave you with one question: are we wearing the mask of religion or showing the true face of relationship?

The Meaning Of Life

I HAVE SEARCHED TO FIND
THE MEANING OF THIS LIFE,
SOMETHING THAT WOULD
FILL MY EMPTY SOUL.

SOME BELIEVE A LIE,
CHOOSE DARKNESS OVER LIGHT
BUT I WILL STAND
AND LET THE WHOLE WORLD KNOW

I CHOOSE JESUS, I CHOOSE JESUS
THE ONE WHO FIRST CHOSE ME
I CHOOSE JESUS, I CHOOSE JESUS
FOR NOW AND ETERNITY

I STAND UNASHAMED
TRUSTING IN ONE NAME
‘CAUSE I HAVE SEEN THE CROSS
AND I BELIEVE

HIS CHOICE COMES AT A COST
ALL OTHER THINGS ARE LOST
NO OTHER LOVE CAN MEAN
SO MUCH TO ME

HE CHOSE TO LOVE ME
WHEN I FELT UNLOVEABLE
HE CHOSE TO REACH ME WHEN I FELT UNREACHABLE

HE CARRIED ME OUT OF MY FEAR AND DOUBT
HOW I WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW
I CHOOSE JESUS

Jesus Is The One

Jesus is the only One who can see the deepest secrets in your soul and not love you any less.
Jesus is the only Friend who always seeks to be with you, even when you push Him away.
Jesus is the only Person who hangs onto every word you say, even when what you say reflects the inherent sinfulness of your soul.
Jesus is the only One who hangs on to your hand, even when you let go of His.
Jesus is the only Guide who gives direction even when you don't listen.
Jesus is the only Savior who died to save your soul, even when you were yet a sinner.
Jesus is the only Counselor who gives counsel even when you don't esteem His counsel highly.
Jesus is the only One who looks for you even when you aren't seeking to be found.
Jesus is the only God who never gives up on you even when you have given up on Him.
...Why, then, is it, that we, though being loved so marvellously, seek to find solace in the mediocre things in life?
Friends, Jesus is the One who satisfies all the cravings you will have in your lifetime!
